Some days are just better than others!

Today was one of those days! It's been a long time coming. I am so thankful for the decision Nick has made to serve a mission. It's going to be a great 2 years. Here is a photo of him getting Rob on the phone, Cam, Cecia & Jack on Skype all while holding on to his "mail".

Oregon, Portland Mission (Jizzle on a phone, Rob on other, Cam on skype).

Next best thing to being here.

Letting it all sink in. Report July 21st. I am going to miss him something terrible but just for the record, there is NO place I would rather he be.

Spring Break

Baja Mike..aka Mr. McDreamy!

San Felipe March 2010

We had a great time in San Felipe over Spring Break with the Soelberg Family. We were able to enjoy all the old favorites, Maria's Taco stand, Guillermo singing "Quando", treasure hunting and bargining in the shops, and star gazing at night. We also enjoyed shopping at DJ's Market for some fresh camerones, tortillas, and fixings for homemade salsa for our homemade taco feast.

Some of us had more fun than others....headache Dave?

Tell me when will you be back....Quando, Quando, Quando!

The Mango's were crazy delicious.......

The stylish shoppers

Serious about a knife...practicing his "stank" face! Nothing better to a 12 year old boy than to be deamed "responsible enough."

This year we tried something new...we went clam digging. We did well the first day and got enough for everyone to try a few. We liked it so much we went back the next day determined to get enough for a meal. Jake was a master "mudder" and gathered the most clams. They were so big we had trouble getting them to cook all the way. Since they were big, more of the "clam" was visible which took many of us out of the game. I just couldn't get past the look of it to put it in my mouth even though I knew it would be delicious.
Note to self for next year: Go for the baby clams.

Alex was often seen with this face as she was not a fan of watching anyone eat anything "from the sea." I think the boys had a contest to see who could get Alex to gag the quickest. Jake always won! She did find some things she really liked...just so you know.

I have always wanted to watch the sunrise over the Sea of Cortez so this year I went out on the roof deck and enjoyed a beautiful Sunrise. It was beautiful. Next on my list...I want to watch a moon rise.

The end of a great trip....and now back to reality.

And.....I'm Back

After trying to find the time to go back and update this blog for the MONTHS I am behind, I decide it was next to impossible. I have decided to start fresh. Here's to moving forward.
